Slaton, Texas is a town built by the Santa Fe Railroad @ 20 miles south of Lubbock, deep in the heart of West Texas. The Santa Fe Route is commemorated by the beautifully restored 1912 Slaton Harvey House Bed & Breakfast and the AT&SF 1809 steam locomotive on the town square, the focus of the “Spirit of Slaton” restoration project. It is an international destination for all railfans.
The Slaton, Muleshoe and Pacific is a fictional model rail line that follows the Slaton Division from Slaton, TX to Clovis, NM in the late 1960s. The Slaton Division was controlled by a US&S Centralized Traffic Control (CTC) machine that is being repurposed to its former glory by running the Slaton Muleshoe and Pacific model railroad.
We hope you will enjoy sharing the journey that so many model railroaders, artists, engineers, photographers, pilots, and students contributed to.
